“Education is not the learning of facts,
but the training of the mind to think” — Albert Einstein

Our curriculum promotes an enquiry-based approach to learning to stimulate and develop thinking skills and encourage intellectual engagement. This framework provides a foundation on which the later stages of education can be built.

Developing learners’ speaking, listening, reading and writing skills in English to develop first language competency.

Exploring number, geometry, measurement, handling data and problem solving with a strong emphasis on developing students mental-maths and life-long mathematic skills.

Focusing on written and verbal language skills, our high-quality Arabic curriculum is rooted in Bahrains rich culture.

Focusing on scientific enquiry, biology, chemistry and physics, encouraging students to have ideas, evaluate evidence, plan. investigate, record and analyse.

Complementing this is our Art, Physical Education, ICT and Drama programmes which allow students time and space to develop their creative and artistic skills and to explore their imagination.

Palms School is attached to Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) through the British Council for English, Maths and Science and to Bahrain’s National Curriculum for the subjects of Arabic Language, Social Studies and Islamic Education.

As a bilingual school, we strive to develop confident, responsible, innovative and engaged learners.  We recognise that students are on an active and creative learning journey and are best supported in an environment which encourages learning through play and self-development.

  • Our lessons are based on differentiated instruction, which caters for the student’s individual needs and levels.

  • Additional education needs are discussed with parents which helps to monitor the student’s progress and develop a learning action plan.

  • Together, our teachers and students set targets, sharing these with parents to encourage the most supportive learning environment.

  • Our teachers adopt an encouraging attitude, celebrating the student’s progress and success.

At Palms, we strive to maintain a balance between academic achievement and developing students creative and artistic talents.

We provide a broad range of after-school clubs aimed at proving opportunities for students to explore their talents, including: English Drama, Arabic Drama, Ballet, Exploring Science, Cursive Handwriting, Arabic Story Reading and Sports Club.

Our emphasis on creative arts, sport and drama provides a holistic school experience for students where they are given the opportunity to develop a range of skills, talents and interests. These subjects create not only a key section of our curriculum, they form the basis of our after-school programme where students have the opportunity to develop their talents to a greater extent than the normal school day allows.

At Palms, we strive to maintain a balance between academic achievement and developing students creative and artistic talents.

Student Council
Encouraging our students to have a voice in shaping their life and environment at school, we encourage students to get involved with our Student Council. The student council helps share students’ ideas, interests, and concerns with teachers and school principals.

Parent Teacher Association
We have an enthusiastic, passionate Parent Teacher Association (PTA) who work in partnership with the school to raise funds for investment into resources and materials, as well as encouraging closer links between home and school.
